When you have more money than you know what to do with, owning cool toys isn’t enough. You need to have something different, something special. For Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, that’s this Triumph Thruxton, which he had customized by Kott Motorcycles.

Ryan Reynolds is awesome. Like every other guy my age, I was pretty sure we were meant to be best friends after seeing Van Wilder, I wanted to hit the weights after seeing Blade Trinity, and now I want to fight crime with him while saying snarky things after seeing Deadpool. Yes, the man crush is strong, but no one else gets my sense of humor... well, besides you guys.

I don’t necessarily love his choice in bikes, nor his choice in bike builders, but I also needed something to keep me from going to his house and declaring my love for him so I guess it’s a good thing he isn’t completely perfect.

And while so much of what Reynolds says feels like hipster nonsense, a language I’m VERY proficient in, I actually agree with a lot of what he had to say. No, riding a bike may not be as “life-saving” as he would impress upon you. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a point.

Riding a motorcycle is the only time I’m forced to turn my mind from story deadlines and emails and personal life drama and focus on the present.

It’s an escape when life gets stressful or overwhelming, and living in LA and knowing what its culture is like, I can appreciate and connect with how important that is for guys like Reynolds. He puts on the helmet, he’s not a celebrity—he’s just another rider, probably with one of the only moments of blending in with the crowd he can get.

Anonymous. Focused. In the now. Isn’t that why we all do this?

Now let’s just get him on something cooler than this.
